Taking care of a big pack has a lot of challenges. We have a big tribe of people who help us get our dogs neutered, fed, cleaned and loved every single day. Each dog has a cost around $36 per month. This includes veterinary care, food costs and maintenance to our shelter.
We neuter and deworm every new dog we receive in our shelter. There are some extreme cases that take a lot of resources with surgeries, amputations and other major operations; but on average each healthy dog we have costs us around $25 yearly for basic medication and veterinary care.
We have a big team of more than 20 people that help us run the shelter. Between all of us, we manage and care for the pack, feed every single dog, take them for daily walks around the farm, do logistics to get dog food to the shelter, clean their space, pick up tons of dog shit, coordinate with vets, customer service and other tasks. We know it is hard, but it is the most gratifing work we can possibly imagine.
We consume more than 4 tons of dog food every week! This is one of the biggest expenses we have in the shelter. We can never afford to run out of food to feed our animals. On average, each dog consumes around $25 of food every single month.
